Chardonnay reigns supreme here and our chalky soil bring finesse and earthiness to our Blanc de Blancs wine.
Since our vineyard is very fragmented, every plot has its own identity and character, which means we can make complex champagne.
After starting out in Cramant and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, our vineyard has expanded over the years to cover vines in Cuis (Premier Cru), Chouilly, Oiry, Cramant, Oger and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger (all Grand Cru).
The Vallée de la Marne to the west gives our champagne another dimension. The region's clay and marl soil gives our Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir their richness and body.
Our vineyard covers 4 villages: Troissy on the right bank and Trélou sur Marne, Vincelles and Verneuil on the left bank! Fruity Meunier is smooth whilst Pinot Noir is full-bodied and intense.
Petit Meslier, a rare white grape variety, is the latest to be planted in Verneuil and provides both a unique personality and aromatic verve.
Vines are perennials crops that we pass down from one generation to the next. We tend to the vines our ancestors planted and generations to come will take care of the ones we plant!
We think "sustainable vine growing" is a bit of a cliché, so we like to call it "adaptive viticulture"! Our vineyard is like a mosaic of different plots which all have different needs, so we have to watch over them and listen to them.
We see our craft as working with Mother Nature, so we take special care of our vines throughout the year. We're always learning something new about our work and we know that being winemakers means keeping an open mind and being passionate.
