From the Côte des Blancs to the Vallée de la Marne

Whether it be the Gimonnet family from Cuis or the Gonet family from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, the history of the Gimonnet-Gonet winery is rooted in the Côte des Blancs and its reigning grape variety: Chardonnay!

Both our families began selling their first wine in the early 20th century. They stayed true to their bond with their home village without sacrificing the surrounding vineyards: the Côte des Blancs for the Gimonnet family and the Vallée de la Marne for the Gonet family!

The rise of Gimonnet-Gonet

Anne Gonet and Philippe Gimonnet founded their own business in 1986: Gimonnet-Gonet. They wanted to make champagne showcasing Chardonnay in all its pure and earthy glory as the true epitome of the Côte des Blancs terroir.

They began trading in 1990. The vineyard's expansion, primarily in the Vallée de la Marne, saw them launch a new vintage blending Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

The passionate winemakers worked hard to elevate every plot and gradually build their reputation in France and abroad.

The next generation

Charles returned to the winery in 2012 followed by his twin sister Anne-Sophie in 2020. They both have the same passion and drive to keep their family legacy alive! Previous generations have paved the way for us and we've adapted to climate change.

Now we want to use our cultural and winemaking projects to showcase every terroir and every grape variety in our vineyard, in a celebration of personality and authenticity!
